We have been created to live in community and not in isolation. Physically, we do live in a community, but spiritually, socially, and relationally we often live our lives in isolation. We find ourselves with no one to turn to when we have a major issue that has just surfaced in our life. Living in community affords us the opportunity to more wholly experience God through close relationships as we play and pray together, as we encourage and help one another, and as we study and live out God’s word together.
At our church, a Life Group usually consists of 7-15 attendees in various life stages who meet on a regular basis in someone's home. These communities are about establishing relationships that encourage us to grow spiritually, offer mercy towards one another in our time of need, and, as groups, be the hand of justice in our community and the world around us.
It is our goal to see every member of our church connected in a Life Group. We believe participation in Life Group paired with our weekend experience is key to becoming a passionate follower of Jesus Christ. Most of our groups are message-based, discussing the weekend's message, some, however, use other books and curriculum. Life Groups meet weekly to study God's Word and support each other in homes around the valley and are comprised of between 12-16 people. There are three, 10 week semesters each Life Group year (Fall, Winter and Spring) and we take the summer months off.
